About

Lola Carriat is an up-and-coming filmmaker. Originally in Film studies in France, she already had the pleasure to make four short movies: two fictions, one film-essai, and an experimental documentary.

For her senior year she went to New York as an exchange student, with the idea that she would learn the same way than in France. But New York can bring way more to a filmmaker, and she is now developing future projects.

Fiction (Child(f)ish, 2013, La Vie Demeure et la Demeure vit, 2015), documentary (Le Loisir du Diable, 2015), essai, experimental (1/2, 2017)… So far she experienced only the film making process of short movies but is looking forward to making in the future a long feature. Although, defining her work in a genre is not necessary yet, she feels free to experiment; open-mindness and diversity are part of her ideologies!

What matters to Lola’s work, what makes her passionate about creating is the infinite language of senses through images, sounds, movements… Xavier Dolan said “There are movie that we watch and movie that we feel.” You do not have to like her work, she will not lead her audience’s taste but she definitely wants you to feel it.

She works by herself, with different teams and partners she meets and finds in her journey, with her team in France Lorance Emrine Productions, with who she worked on La vie Demeure et la Demeure Vit in 2016 or her other team REDHEAD(e) Productions.

Feel free too contact her  and to check her slowly but certainly growing filmography!
